The IMS Bearing supports the intermediate shaft on the flywheel end of the motor. It drives the camshafts off the crankshaft and reduces the speeds of the chains in the engine, which promotes better, longer chain life.
The issue comes from the bearing failing and causing irreparable damage to the intermediate shaft of your Porsche. This also causes much larger issues as debris from the failure can contaminate the entire engine.
At Germany’s Best, our ASE certified technicians have decades of experience working with Porsche vehicles. We’re familiar with the models most known for IMS bearing issues and know all the signs to look for to help prevent any failure from occurring. Our shop uses the latest factory-grade tools & equipment to provide any necessary repairs that your car may need.
